Aside from genetics is the other-than-human soul concept. A very ancient concept, known by Oriental societies for centuries, is that the body, mind and soul (which is connected with spirit) all interact with one another, affecting one another in various ways. For example, within Chinese medicine, sickness is looked upon from a spiritual (chi) standpoint as having caused the physical manifestation of illness. Blockages in chi flow are often worked out with acupuncture treatment. The treatment on the chi flow positively affects the body and many people are cured via this method of treatment. Also, if a person is under stress, that person is more susceptible to physical ailments including viral infections. If emotional problems of any sort are present in a patient, that patient can become psychosomatic, that is, the emotional state causes very real illness- as opposed to hypochondria wherein the patient thinks there is something physically wrong when there is not.

Discussion amongst us and with various other soul types gives us an opportunity to compare what our lives have been like, what our abilities are and are not, and with the opening up of places on the internet, such as forums online groups, we can learn the differences between us and other soultypes, such as “weres” (astral animal shifters that are not vampires), as well as similarities.

There are those in the vampire community in general (by “community” in this context, I mean all vampires on the planet who self-identify as vampires) who do not think that a true vampire can be a hybrid with weres or they do not believe that weres even exist. However, in most cases, the shifting is due to our soultype as Angelics/ “Fallen Ones” (or spiritual offspring and descendants of Fallen Ones). Many Angelics are astral shape shifters and some make excellent shamans. There are those in the vampire Community whom also do not believe in the Fallen Angel theory.

Vampires do not have human souls according to our belief system in House of the Crossroads Angels. We have human bodies that are prone to certain human illness such as anemia. That is not to say that all anemics are vampires nor that all vampires are anemic. I happen to be prone to anemia and I know low iron is a common problem amongst us. Vampires have to use limited human brains, and thusly our minds are both vampire and human. Our spirit/astral selves are totally vampire, except for any effect that living in human bodies has had on us in a permanent manner. Spiritually, we are eternal entities like humans are. Physically, we do not live any longer than anyone else. A vampire who claims to be over 120 years old is most likely lying to you! J

Many of us are actually fallen angels (The original fallen are The Ancients), our children closest in lineage are also Ancients. The human body cannot handle the angelic in it, yet this is our only way to change, evolve spiritually, is to take on human form. For some of us, we become physically very messed up in these bodies and getting the human brain to work with millenia of knowledge can be overwhelming as we start getting flashes of memory from ages past.  The more frequently we incarnate into human bodies, the higher risk for physical problems. Put a non-human soul in a human body and there must be certain effects that soul has upon the body and vice verso. Many vampires believe in reincarnation and choice of family and body, therefore more likely to choose a family wherein the right DNA will be present. However, it simply may be the Fallen Angelic factor alone.

Some vampires are religious and some are not and if religious, they may be within any religion whatsoever they choose. Many of the religious are pagan or dark pagan. Some vampires are agnostics or atheists. What an Angel is or is not does not matter here. Christian ideas may or may not be acceptable to you concerning this subject.

Some vampires who know we are Fallen Ones have chosen to live our lives in “gray” zones, so to speak. Some of us choose to live more so on the side of “Light” and others more so on the side of “Darkness”, or may move between the two depending on the circumstances which present themselves. Those who work for the Light may choose to be healers or psychic mediums. Those who work for the side of Darkness may choose to utilize their unique abilities in Magic(k)s for karmic retribution via spiritual courses of action. Some work between the worlds of darkness and light and of death and life and these are shamans who have a natural gift for being bridges or building bridges “in-between”. Some such as myself fall into all of these categories.
